Here's an edited version of the review:
"Edit: Updated review to 4 stars as they did service recovery.
The green grape tea is so bad! It’s so bitter, I have no idea how they made it so. My mum tried it and said it tasted like medicine. Even the grapes absorbed the tea and became bitter. Threw the whole cup away.
The white peach oolong was also bitter. Milk teas are OK.
Not sure if it was their first day, which is why the standard was so bad, but I expected better from Playmade."
To Whom It May Concern,
I am beyond furious with the experience I had at your store tonight. Your official closing time for this outlet is listed as 9:00 PM. I entered the store at 8:55 PM—well before closing time—only to be told at 8:58 PM by a blonde-haired male Malaysian staff member that the customer before me would be the last order accepted.
Are you kidding me?
Not ONCE did your staff bother to inform me that I wouldn’t be served. Instead, I was made to wait, only to be turned away when I reached the front of the queue. Not only was I already in the store, I had patiently waited behind two customers who were clearly taking their own sweet time to place their orders.
How is that acceptable? If you’re going to cut off the queue before 9:00 PM, then don’t advertise that you’re open until 9:00 PM. And if there’s a “last order” time, where was the sign? Where was the courtesy to tell me upfront so I wouldn’t waste my time waiting?
This is completely disrespectful of my time. I demand a proper explanation and some form of recovery for the unnecessary wait and the blatant disregard shown by your staff.
Looking forward to your urgent response.
If I Could Give Zero Stars, I Would. I'm only leaving this one pathetic star just to warn others.
Absolutely disgusting experience at Playmade Punggol Coast. Today, I went and got chased out by the blonde-haired staff member even though we were already inside the shop and queuing well before closing time. No shouting, but his tone and body language were clear, as if to say: “We’ve closed, get out.” Unbelievable.
What’s the point of keeping your doors open and letting customers queue, only to shove them out like unwanted pests? The entire staff stood there looking displeased, like we were a burden just for showing up. Is this how Playmade operates now? Zero professionalism. Zero customer care. Just pure laziness and bad attitude.
And let’s be real—the staff will 100% lie and deny if anyone from management even bothers to ask. But honestly, I doubt Playmade’s management will lift a finger.
If I could give ZERO stars, I absolutely would. But sadly, Google forces me to give at least one pathetic star just to post this. Keep running your outlet like this and I promise you—it won’t stay open much longer.
"Casually walked by on a weekday and decided to get specs. I was really pleasantly surprised by the great customer service from the two service staff, the detailed eye tests by the optometrist, and the nice interior."
Good selection of bread. I gave feedback to the cashier about improving customer flow by placing the tray and tongs at the entrance instead of beside the cashier, especially since the aisles are narrow.
It was newly opened with an opening special. The place is clean, but a tad small and confined, unlike other Bread Talk outlets, which are more roomy. Nonetheless, I'm happy it's finally open so I can grab my bread fix.
The LED "running track" warm lighting effect is making customers feel groggy if they spend too much time browsing in your shop. It's like a lagging computer fitted with blinking lights; either on or off is good enough.
