"Neat, Japanese-style design in the heart of Punggol Coast Mall and near Punggol Coast MRT. The interior looks spacious and clean. I will update when it opens with details about the food and service.

I've tried the food now. The service is good, and the environment is cozy. The Japanese food is above average. The highlight of my meal was the pork don. I will be back again to try the beef offerings."
"We have been regular patrons of Sushi Tei at Tampines, where we were always warmly served by Manager Danny. After his transfer to the Punggol outlet, we were delighted to reconnect with him there, along with May Chyi and Annie, who consistently go above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Under Danny’s leadership, the service at the Punggol outlet remains exemplary—staff are attentive, courteous, and professional. The atmosphere is pleasant and inviting, contributing to a truly enjoyable dining experience. We are also pleased to note that the quality of the food continues to meet the high standards we have come to expect from Sushi Tei."
Years of consistent quality — still our family’s favorite.
Our family has been loyal customers of Sushi Tei for many years, and we’re still coming back — that says a lot. We're also members, and this place has never failed us in terms of food quality, service, and value.
Their sashimi, especially the salmon, is always fresh and buttery soft, which our kids absolutely love. The tuna sashimi deserves a mention too — not only is it fresh, but they always manage to avoid those tough or sinewy parts (not sure if they’re called tendons?), making every piece easy to enjoy.
We also had:
• Unagi Don — flavorful and tender, nothing overly fancy but meets expectations.
• Salad with pork — the pork was juicy and well-seasoned, and the veggie mix added the right crunch and freshness. It’s a well-balanced dish.
• Yakiniku Don — the beef was tender, savory, and satisfying.
• Teriyaki Salmon — our youngest’s all-time favorite. Always cooked just right — tender, never dry.
• And let’s not forget the rice — consistently served hot and of great quality, a detail many places overlook.
The free refill green tea is always appreciated, and service has always been polite and prompt. What really stands out over the years is Sushi Tei’s consistency. Whether it’s a regular dinner or a family outing, the experience rarely, if ever, falls short.
Highly recommended — especially if you value fresh ingredients, consistent quality, and a welcoming place to return to again and again.
Wow, the food was amazingly bad! 👏
1. Tsukemen: the amount of noodles given was kid-sized (finished in two bites), and the soup tasted like dashi soup thickened with cornstarch.
2. Kaisen yosenabe: scum from boiling the soup was left when served, and the carrots were cut in big chunks – lazy or intentional?
3. Chicken katsu don: the rice was even softer than risotto and tasteless.
Worth trying for the experience.
Met some friends here for lunch. Service was very good, and the server was quick to top up our drinks and clear the plates.
The food was fresh, particularly the sushi. We liked the ika sushi so much that we reordered it. We also liked the soba with tempura and the sashimi.
The meat gyoza were okay, though a little on the small side, as was the deep-fried butterfly shrimp.
Lunch for four was $165, which we felt was a tad expensive but seems to be par for the course nowadays.
First time trying this new outlet. Happy to walk in without a queue. They also arranged a table for me in the end corner, away from other customers. I prefer a quiet moment to enjoy the Japanese cuisine 😋…
"All good. Love the place.
Just the noise pollution is terrible. Please do something about the soundproofing, or maybe install noise absorption; we can hear the clanking of plates, drawers closing, other people's conversations, etc.
It spoils the whole atmosphere.
We will be regulars here."
This brand new mall has a new Sushi Tei outlet. During peak hours, the queue is super long, but the service and food are excellent!
For first-time users of the app, you can pay $68 and get an $80 voucher. Also, as part of the opening special, you get a salmon sashimi rice for free.
I ordered the sukiyaki beef, which is a crowd favorite; 10/10. The soup is on point.
We ordered the udon with cutlet and tempura, which were all pretty good, 7/10.
The Mentaiko spider roll was delicious too.
All in all, it's worth coming again to try other food on their menu!
"I was very glad that the staff patiently answered my questions about the membership, and the waitstaff were really nice! Kudos to the service staff; I hope this continues. I dined there on Thursday evening."
