World-famous Taiwanese restaurant specializing in xiaolongbao soup dumplings with 18 folds
Din Tai Fung is a world-renowned Taiwanese restaurant chain that began as a humble cooking oil business in 1958. Founded by Yang Bing-yi and his wife Lai Penmei, the restaurant transformed into a culinary empire when declining oil sales led them to pivot to food service in 1972. What started as a small shop has become one of the world's most celebrated dumpling destinations, ranking among the New York Times' Top Ten Best Restaurants globally.
The restaurant is internationally famous for its meticulously crafted xiaolongbao (soup dumplings), each featuring paper-thin wrappers folded by hand into exactly 18 precise pleats. These delicate dumplings are filled with top-quality Kurobuta pork marinated in carefully selected seasonings, creating the perfect balance of flavors and textures. The signature Golden Ratio of 18 folds has become Din Tai Fung's trademark, representing their commitment to culinary perfection.
With over 170 locations worldwide and a Michelin star for their Hong Kong branch, Din Tai Fung continues to uphold the authentic traditions of Taiwanese cuisine. Beyond the famous xiaolongbao, the menu features steamed chicken soup, traditional noodles, and other Taiwanese specialties, all prepared with the same meticulous attention to detail that has made Din Tai Fung a global culinary phenomenon spanning more than 60 years.
Good atmosphere, not crowded even on weekends, so if you're in the Punggol area, you may give it a shot. However, it's loud because there were lots of kids screaming, which is to be expected in an area with many young families. We ordered the beef noodle without beef, which still had a nice beef taste in the soup. The pork XLB is a crowd favorite and won't go wrong, so we ordered a basket of 10. The sweet and sour pork was 10/10 – very crispy and delicious; we lapped it up. Then we ordered two orders of fried rice: the shrimp and the pork chop variants. Both were delicious. Overall, it was a good meal, 10/10 in all areas, including service and environment!

Conveniently located within the Punggol Digital District, next to the MRT station. Clean, bright interior, with a spacious layout. We came by on a weekday for dinner, and there was not much of a crowd. The crew were, as usual, well-trained, polite, and friendly. Food was not bad. Do try their xiao long bao, especially the sesame mochi one. Will come back again soon.

Great hospitality from the service crew even with my naughty children around. I really appreciate the kind gesture from the Cashier Qiaoyee for promptly splitting up my bill into multiple receipts because my kids wanted to play in the bouncy castle.
My kids love the xiaolongbao as always.

Dropped by this outlet yesterday. Food and service were as expected, consistent with their other outlets. I'd like to compliment Qiao Yee, as she was very patient with my baby boy and provided a bib before I even thought to ask. She was truly attentive and thoughtful.
Other than that, I'd say that the lighting in here is a bit too bright for me personally.

The staff at the new outlet was very attentive. The atmosphere was great. They don't serve Chinese tea in a pot, unlike other outlets. The food and standard are more or less the same as other outlets. I recommend this outlet for companies for their weekday executive lunch. 😀😃😄😁
