Job Description
As a Senior Science Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in setting up and driving the success of the new Science department, teaching and mentoring Primary Science (P4–P6) students, focusing on advanced PSLE preparation. You will design and refine curriculum materials, ensuring they are aligned with MOE standards and are impactful for PSLE preparation. Additionally, you will contribute to strategic planning, ensuring the department’s growth and overall success. This role requires someone with a business owner’s mindset — you will need to balance curriculum development with hands-on teaching while shaping the future of the department.

Key Responsibilities:

Drive Academic Excellence

• Teach and mentor Primary Science (P4–P6) students, focusing on advanced PSLE preparation strategies.
• Design and review high-impact lesson materials, including PSLE-style questions, answer frameworks, and marking rubrics.
• Lead workshops for students and parents on PSLE trends, common pitfalls, and updates to the MOE syllabus.

Lead Curriculum & Assessment Innovation

• Oversee the development of proprietary Science curriculum (e.g., exam-centric worksheets, mock papers) aligned with MOE standards.

Who You Are:

• You are a Primary Science educator with 8+ years of experience teaching in Singapore, with proven PSLE question-setting/marking experience (e.g., former MOE teacher, PSLE marker, or curriculum developer).
• Candidates with PSLE Science marking experience will be given priority as this is a key part of the role.
• You have conversational proficiency in Mandarin, as you will need to communicate with colleagues in China. Teaching will be conducted in English.
• You have a deep understanding of the MOE syllabus, PSLE grading frameworks, and application-based learning (e.g., answering techniques for open-ended questions).
• You have direct classroom or group-based teaching experience at the primary school level (P4–P6) in academic or enrichment institutions, where you’ve engaged with multiple students in structured lesson settings.
• You have a track record of coaching students or leading PSLE programs in an education center or school environment, with the ability to apply PSLE strategies effectively.
• We understand that MOE Primary School teachers often teach multiple subjects, and we are completely comfortable with candidates who have experience teaching beyond just Science.

Salary:

• Up to $12,000 per month, depending on experience.
• For highly qualified candidates who meet 90% or more of the role’s requirements, a higher salary may be considered.
