The Job
The Medical Escort/Aide & Transport Executive is responsible for managing and coordinating non-emergency medical transportation and escort services for clients. This role involves scheduling, liaising with drivers and volunteers, client assessment, and ensuring that each client's journey is safe, comfortable, and well-documented.
Responsibilities
- Handle client referrals from the Agency for Integrated Care (AIC) and senior member.
- Conduct initial assessments of referred clients to determine service suitability and special needs.
- Maintain updated client profiles with medical, mobility, and psychosocial information.
- Coordinate and schedule medical escort services for clients to attend medical appointments.
- Accompany clients as a medical aide when required, providing physical or emotional support during appointments.
- Monitor the safety and well-being of clients during transportation and medical visits.
- Engage volunteers and provide necessary briefing and training on escort protocols and client handling.
- Coordinate with volunteer escorts to support client appointments when internal staff are not available.
- Maintain a roster of available volunteers and assign duties accordingly.
- Plan and manage transport schedules in collaboration with assigned drivers.
- Ensure vehicles are efficiently deployed to meet clients’ needs, minimizing waiting time and travel disruption.
- Assist with route planning and timing to optimize resources and punctuality.
- Maintain accurate service documentation including trip logs, client interaction records, and incident reports.
- Submit timely Medical Escort and Transport (MET) reports to supervisors and funding bodies.
- Ensure confidentiality and compliance with organizational and data protection policies.
- Support audit and review processes by ensuring up-to-date and complete client and service records.
Requirement
- At least Diploma/Degree in any discipline.
- Related qualification in working with the elderly / in the social sector / training in gerontology.
- Possess a good command of spoken and written English and Mandarin to liaise with Mandarin speaker clients.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
