Director/Executive, Pastoral Care

PLMC is looking for a dedicated Pastoral Care Director/Ministry Executive to lead and expand our ministry of compassionate presence. This role is pivotal in providing emotional, spiritual, and practical support to our members and worshippers during times of need. The ideal candidate will possess a servant's heart and the ability to coordinate and lead various ministry activities that uphold the church's mission to bless the community.

Responsibilities

• Execute an effective system of providing pastoral care and support to members at times of bereavement, prolonged illness and other life crises.
• Coordinate and conduct hospital and homebound visitations
• Recruit, train and work alongside co-workers who are serving in the pastoral care ministry
• Provide direction to couples in their church wedding preparations and ensure that they adhere to PLMC’s guidelines for solemnisation and blessing of marriage
• Work closely with pastors and staff to ensure that wedding services run smoothly and according to plan
• Assist to coordinate with pastors and bereaved families for wake and funeral arrangements, and conduct wake services
• Provide regular updates of the church’s pastoral needs and prayer concerns to members in a timely manner

Requirements

• Theological diploma/degree, or equivalent
• Proven experience in church ministry
• At least 3-5 years of relevant experience in pastoral care for the Director position
• A winsome team player who can work with diverse groups of people
• Possess a shepherd’s heart and desire to provide care for people at their point of need
• An independent worker, with strong organisational skills
• Comfortable working on weekends and non-conventional hours
