As Precast Design Engineer, you are responsible for detailing and drafting precast concrete components for construction projects to ensure the successful production and installation of precast elements that meet project specifications, structural requirements and quality standards.
Job Descriptions:
- Develop precast layout and fabrication shop drawings of precast elements for submission and production.
- Review client-submitted architectural and structural drawings and propose precast connection designs.
- Prepare lifting and handling designs for precast components throughout production, transportation, and installation.
- Provide hollow core slab design calculations.
- Coordinate hollow core slab projects.
- Ensure shop drawings are clear, accurate, and in accordance with project requirements, standard and project timelines.
- Demonstrate familiarity with structural design codes and their applications.
- Prepare and review engineering designs and analyses for precast projects.
- Work closely with production and suppliers to Identify discrepancies between tender drawings and final shop drawings and the submission/issuance of shop drawings, highlight technical issues and keep them updated of any revisions
- Provide technical assistance regarding precast production and in-house factory requirements.
- Attend technical meetings with consultants/clients as and when required.
- Perform any ad-hoc duties assigned
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with a minimum of two years of experience.
- Experience in reinforced concrete, steel, and precast design to local requirements.
- Understanding of BIM workflows and their application to projects is an advantage.
- Possess strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in structural design analysis software is highly regarded.
