Paya Lebar Methodist Church is seeking a passionate and dedicated Cell Ministry Executive to oversee and nurture the growth and health of our Cell Ministry and its small groups (cell groups). Working closely with the Director and cell cluster leaders, this role is pivotal in fostering discipleship, community development, and spiritual growth within our congregation.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the activities of existing cell groups, providing guidance and resources to ensure they align with the church’s mission and objectives
- Collaborate with the Director and cluster leaders to identify, train and mentor potential cell leaders, ensuring a pipeline of capable individuals to lead small groups effectively
- Develop and implement strategies to promote spiritual growth among cell group members, encouraging regular Bible study, prayer, and fellowship
- Plan and coordinate leaders’ meetings and ministry activities, including training sessions, retreats and fellowship events
- Maintain records of cell group activities, attendance, and progress, providing periodic reports to the Director and church leadership
- Prepare discussion materials, including sermon summaries and reflection questions
- Engage effectively with newcomers and integrate them into the church community
- Any other duty as required by the church, such as duties for corporate events, pastoral care (bereavement), ministering to needy walk-in cases, etc.
- Any other role, responsibilities and duties as assigned by the Director and Pastor-In-Charge.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Diploma or Degree in any field
- Proven experience in church ministry, particularly in small group settings
- Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills
- Strong communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook)
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and across various church ministries with minimal supervision
- Willingness to work on Sundays and non-traditional schedules e.g. evenings, public holidays and weekends for church meetings/events
Preferred Requirements
- While formal theological education is a plus, relevant ministry training or hands-on experience is valued.
- A commitment to faith and the ability to lead and shepherd small groups spiritually.
