We are a rapidly growing centralized cryptocurrency exchange committed to delivering a secure, high-performance trading experience for users worldwide. Our operational headquarters is based in Singapore, although we do not provide any services—retail or institutional—to users in Singapore. As we scale, we are looking for a meticulous and reliable Accounts Executive to oversee the company’s financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency.
Role Summary
As an Accounts Executive, you will be responsible for managing the full spectrum of accounting functions for the company, including accounts receivable (AR), accounts payable (AP), bookkeeping, reconciliations, financial statements preparation, and tax filings. You will work closely with both internal teams and external partners (e.g., tax advisors, auditors, banks) to ensure timely and accurate financial management.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Bookkeeping
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records using cloud accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks).
- Perform monthly closing of books, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
- Ensure proper classification of crypto and fiat transactions in accordance with accounting standards.
Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Manage AP and AR processes, including invoice generation, vendor payments, and receivables tracking.
- Monitor outstanding balances and follow up on overdue payments.
- Handle crypto and fiat payments and transfers across multiple bank and wallet platforms.
Banking & Treasury
- Manage relationships with financial institutions, payment processors, and custodians.
- Perform bank reconciliations and ensure proper documentation of fiat and crypto transactions.
- Initiate and monitor cross-border fund transfers and operational wallets.
Financial Reporting
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports including balance sheet, P&L, and cash flow statements.
- Support financial audits and provide necessary documentation to auditors and stakeholders.
Tax & Compliance
- Prepare and file corporate tax, GST/VAT, and regulatory submissions in coordination with external accountants or tax advisors.
- Ensure compliance with local and international tax laws, accounting standards, and internal controls.
Process Improvement & Internal Controls
- Implement and maintain accounting procedures and controls to improve accuracy and reduce risk.
- Suggest improvements in finance workflows, automation, and reporting tools.
Requirements
Must-Have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 2+ years of relevant experience in full-set accounting, preferably in a startup, fintech, or crypto environment.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets.
- Strong understanding of AR/AP, financial statements, and tax filings.
- High attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple accounts and entities.
- Ability to handle both fiat and cryptocurrency accounting and reconciliations. Familiar or fast learner is acceptable.
Preferred:
- Familiarity with cryptocurrency wallet operations & blockchain explorers. New learners are welcome. Must be able to learn fast & independently.
- Experience working with cross-border entities or international financial structures.
- Prior experience in a regulated fintech, exchange, or payments company. New learners are welcome. Must be able to learn fast & independently.
- Knowledge of Singapore corporate tax, but also experience with offshore or multi-jurisdictional accounting is a plus. New learners are welcome. Must be able to learn fast & independently.
