Punggol's National Day 2026: month-long pasar malam, NDP dinner, and observance ceremony
Punggol's National Day 2026 programme is stacked across August, anchored by three distinct events: a month-long community trade fair, a seated National Day dinner at Punggol Digital District, and a morning observance ceremony at Punggol Coast Mall. Singapore turns 61 this year, and the neighbourhood is marking it with the longest single community event on the Punggol calendar. Here is what is happening, when, and how to get into each one.
The Punggol Shore National Day Trade Fair, 1 to 30 August
The headline is the Punggol Shore National Day Pasar Malam 2026, running the full month of 1 to 30 August 2026, held in conjunction with the division's National Day Fiesta. The venue is the open field next to Punggol Fire Station, at 151 Punggol Central, Singapore 828727, at the junction of Edgedale Plains and Punggol Central. It is organised by Punggol 21 Community Club and the People's Association.
Expect close to 50 food and retail stalls, carnival rides and games, claw machines, and live entertainment across the month. The pasar malam format means late opening hours, so this is a flexible weekday-evening or weekend-family option rather than a single-day event. Punggol Shore Youth Network has flagged food, games and community activities as the core draw, with more programme highlights to be announced as August approaches.
The National Day Dinner, 2 August at the PDD Nexus Atrium
Punggol North's National Day Dinner takes place on Sunday 2 August 2026, from 6.00pm to 9.00pm, at the Nexus Atrium, Punggol Digital District. The dinner is an eight-course seated meal with live performances through the evening. Tickets are priced at $40 per person or $400 per table of 10, and registration runs through the Punggol North channels. This is the first National Day dinner held in the PDD Nexus Atrium, which puts it inside the district itself rather than at One Punggol.
If you are planning to attend, register early. The dinner sells out most years, and the new PDD venue, with its timber atrium and the Punggol Coast MRT a short walk away, is likely to draw a larger crowd than the previous One Punggol setting. The 2 August date also sits one week before National Day itself, so the dinner acts as the community's main pre-NDP celebration.
The National Day Observance Ceremony, 8 August at Punggol Coast Mall
The Punggol North and JTC National Day Observance Ceremony 2026 runs on Saturday 8 August 2026, from 8.00am to 11.00am, at the Nexus, Punggol Coast Mall, 88 Punggol Way. This is the formal observance, the morning flag-raising and ceremony that precedes National Day itself on 9 August. It is a shorter, more structured event than the dinner or the pasar malam, and it is the one most directly tied to Punggol Coast's own geography, held inside the mall that anchors the digital district.
The observance is co-organised by Punggol North and JTC, which reflects PDD's role as both a residential area and a working district. It is open to residents, and registration is typically via the Punggol North CC onePA channels. Arrive early; the 8.00am start means the ceremony runs into the late morning, and parking at Punggol Coast Mall fills quickly on event days.
How to plan the three across August
The three events run on different cadences. The trade fair is a drop-in anytime across the month, so it works as a spontaneous weekday-evening or weekend visit. The dinner on 2 August is a single evening with a paid ticket, so it requires registration ahead. The observance on 8 August is a single morning, free but registration-managed. If you want to do all three, the cleanest sequence is the dinner on 2 August, a pasar malam visit after, and the observance on the 8 August weekend. The pasar malam runs through to 30 August, so it is also the National Day weekend's after-party if you miss the earlier dates.
