The Dyslexia Association of Singapore is taking over Nexus Atrium at Punggol Coast Mall on Saturday, 10 October 2026. The roadshow runs 10am to 7pm. The 35th anniversary book launch sits in the middle of that day, from 12.30pm to 2.30pm. Entry is free. DAS asks you to register interest on its site if you want a seat at the launch or a structured walk-through of the booths.
Nexus Atrium is the Level 1 open space right outside Punggol Coast MRT Exit 2, near Jollibee, at 88 Punggol Way. If you already shop this mall, you know the plaza. It is the same floor you hit after coming up from the North-East Line. That is useful on a Saturday, because families can park the rest of the outing around a two-hour slot instead of treating this as a separate trip.
What the roadshow is actually for
DAS is a social service agency registered in 1991. Its own site puts the current picture at almost 300 staff, more than 3,500 students across preschool to secondary, and 12 learning centres. This mall date is not a carnival. It is World Dyslexia Awareness Week public outreach, aimed at parents, teachers, and anyone still guessing whether a child’s reading struggle needs a proper look.
The booths are staffed by specialists and educators. You can ask what DAS actually runs, including the Main Literacy Programme, iReach, Maths, Chinese, DAS Academy training, and SpLD Assessment Services. That last one matters. A psychological assessment is the gate for many school supports, and DAS has put a 5pm talk on why it is worth doing, rather than leaving it as a footnote.
Student stories sit next to the booths. DAS students also hang artwork, with featured artists on site from 1.30pm to 4.30pm. Interactive corners cover games, bookmark-making, and a short attempt at seeing schoolwork from a different angle. Those pieces are for children who would otherwise stand around while adults talk.
The hour-by-hour talks
DAS published a timetable. Treat it as the organiser’s current plan, not a locked concert setlist.
- 10.00am Roadshow opens
- 11.00am Talk by the Main Literacy Programme and iReach
- 12.30pm to 2.30pm Book launch block
- 3.00pm Talk by the Maths Programme
- 4.00pm Talk by the Chinese Programme
- 5.00pm Talk on why a psychological assessment matters, by SpLD Assessment Services
- 6.00pm Talk by DAS Academy
The launch block is more detailed. Opening address is at 12.45pm. The official launch of Learning Differently, Together is at 1.15pm, with contributors speaking and a look at what DAS wants next. Book presentation and photos sit at 2.20pm. If you only have one window, this is the one that will not repeat at another mall this month.
Bite-sized talks elsewhere in the day are listed as about 10 minutes. That is the right length if you have a child in tow and cannot sit through a conference. UNITE 2026, DAS’s June conference at Suntec, was the professional version of this conversation. Nexus Atrium is the public version.
How to use the mall around it
Mall hours are generally 10am to 10pm. F&B next to the atrium is the practical backup. Jollibee is the landmark DAS itself names. McDonald’s is at #01-141 in the same tower cluster. If you need a quieter sit-down after the 5pm talk, Din Tai Fung and Paradise Hotpot are upstairs in the Tower 88 dining strip. The Comics & Games Library at #01-140 is a self-service NLB pop-up with comics and board games, useful if one child is done with the roadshow and another is not.
Punggol Coast MRT is inside the district. Exit 2 drops you at the plaza. Drivers use the Punggol Way carpark near Towers 80, 82 and 84. Weekend car parking is $2.73 per entry in each billed period, so an afternoon that crosses 6pm can cost two entries. Check JTC’s live rates before you commit to a long stay.
DAS also wants donations during World Dyslexia Awareness Week. The campaign link on the event page is the WDAW 2026 donation form. Screening slots for Term 4 are already listed separately at DAS Tampines on 2 October, DAS Jurong Point on 31 October, and DAS Toa Payoh on 25 November. The mall day will not replace those appointments. It is the place to ask whether you should book one.
