Responsibilities:
1. Portfolio Management & Strategic Oversight
- Conduct regular reviews of on-going project scope to ensure clarity and alignment with business goals.
2. PMO Framework Development
- Establish standardized project management methodologies, tools, and governance policies that continues to align to business goals, ISO9001 and ISO45001 standards.
- Develop project dashboards and reporting tools for real-time visibility into current project status.
3. Tender, Bid & Scope Review
- Take ownership of reviewing tender and bid documents, with a specific focus on project delivery, management, and scope of work (SOW).
- Review SOWs to ensure clarity and alignment with current available skill sets from the PM engineering resource.
- Ensure that proposed project plans and SOWs are feasible and align with resource capacity and business objectives.
4. Revenue Forecast Review
- Conduct regular project review of project portfolio status to ensure on time delivery of forecasted revenue.
- Collaborate with finance teams to review project revenue forecasts, ensuring delivery of revenue.
5. Resource Planning & Deconfliction
- Deconflict resource allocation across multiple projects, working closely with the PM Engineering Manager to balance workloads and ensure resource optimization.
- Work closely with the PM Engineering Manager to forecast resource needs for upcoming projects, ensuring timely and efficient resource deployment.
- Proactively manage resource conflicts by prioritizing projects based on business impact and resource availability, ensuring that all teams can work efficiently and without bottlenecks.
6. Project Scope Review & Risk Management
- Lead the review and validation of project scopes to ensure that all deliverables are clearly defined and achievable within the established timelines and resource constraints.
- Conduct risk assessments at both the individual project and portfolio levels, identifying potential issues and implementing mitigation strategies.
7. Stakeholder Communication & Leadership
- Serve as the primary point of contact for senior leadership regarding project portfolios, providing insight into risks, mitigation plans, and project outcomes.
- Manage escalations and provide strategic solutions for high-impact issues that may arise during project execution.
8. Mentoring & Continuous Improvement
- Mentor and coach project managers to enhance their skills in managing complex projects.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, driving the adoption of best practices across the project management team.
Requirements:
- Tertiary Education in Data Communications or Networking Engineering.
- Preferably Project Management Professional (PMP) certified.
- Familiar with PMBOK project management process group and knowledge area.
- Self-motivated with a strong sense of responsibility and urgency.
- Diligent in documentation, reporting and tasks tracking ability.
- Possess analytical skills to be able to solve issues that may arise during the project execution with the ability to work independently and cope with pressure.
- Possess excellent communication and people management skills to keep project team members motivated, perform conflict resolutions and make challenging decisions.
- Possess good time management skills as you will be working with project team members, customers and management, often handling multiple projects and parties concurrently.
- Preferably with experience in managing and implementing network infrastructure projects for service providers, financial institutions and large enterprises.
- Able to work flexi hours (even after office hours when required).
- Preferably with good knowledge and hands on experience in any of the following areas:
- IP network services and solutioning for telcos, ISP, Mobile, Broadband Service Providers.
- LAN, WAN, WIFI Technologies, VLANs, STP/RSTP, Routing protocols.
- Network security solutions such as firewalls, CPE based IPSec VPN solutions, token-based authentication solution, intrusion detection systems, antivirus gateway, data encryption and PIN verification systems.
- Appliance based proxy solutions and anti-virus security gateway.
- Appliance based Server/firewall/WAN load balancers, WAN Optimisation systems and Applications Acceleration systems.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio.
- Knowledge or experience in the following areas is an added advantage:
- Security solution such as PAM, Firewall, DDoS.
- Packet Optical Network solutions such as IPoDWDM.
- Data Center, Virtualization, Cloud Computing, SDN and NFV.
- Linux/Unix system configuration, administration, shell scripting and programming languages such as Python.
- Knowledge of Agile/Scrum.
