Part-Time Kitchen Cook

Key Responsibilities

• Cook meals according to set recipes and batch plans
• Oversee safe and consistent cooking, cooling, and blast-freezing procedures
• Work with the kitchen assistant to prepare and portion meals
• Label and store meals correctly, ensure packaging is accurate, hygienic, and well-labelled
• Monitor kitchen supplies and assist with ingredients stock checks
• Maintain high food safety and hygiene standards at all times
• Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen workspace
• Collaborate with team on improving processes and new menu items
• Assist in fulfilling customer orders – packing, labelling, and preparing for dispatch
• Carry out other kitchen-related tasks as needed

Requirements

• Previous experience in a kitchen or food production setting (chef, cook, or similar role)
• Strong understanding of food hygiene and kitchen safety (Level 2 Food Safety or higher preferred)
• Efficient, reliable, and detail-oriented with positive attitude
• Able to work independently and take initiative
• Comfortable with batch cooking and following standardised recipes
• Interest in healthy food and child nutrition
• Physically fit – capable of lifting, standing for long periods, and managing kitchen tasks
