Mechanical Quotation Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyzing Project Requirements:Reviewing customer specifications, technical drawings, and other documentation to understand project scope and technical requirements.
• Cost Estimation:Developing accurate cost estimates for materials, labor, and other project-related expenses.
• Quotation Preparation:Creating detailed quotations that include technical descriptions, cost breakdowns, timelines, and other relevant information.
• Collaboration:Working closely with sales, engineering, and production teams to ensure quotations are competitive and aligned with company capabilities.
• Technical Support:Providing technical support to the sales team and clients regarding quotations, project feasibility, and manufacturing processes.
• Staying Updated:Maintaining knowledge of material costs, labor rates, manufacturing technologies, and industry trends to refine cost estimation methods.
• Process Improvement:Identifying opportunities to improve the quotation process and enhance efficiency.
• Documentation:Maintaining accurate records of all quotations and related documentation.
• Compliance:Ensuring all quotations and processes comply with industry standards and company policies.
• Communication:Communicating with clients to clarify requirements, address concerns, and provide updates.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Mechanical Engineering Degree or Diploma:A degree or diploma in mechanical engineering or a related field is typically required.
• Cost Estimation Experience:Experience in cost estimation, particularly within the metal fabrication industry, is essential.
• CAD Proficiency:Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor) for reviewing and creating drawings.
• Knowledge of Manufacturing Processes:Understanding of various metal fabrication processes (e.g., sheet metal fabrication, welding, machining).
