Illustrator Animator

About the Role

We’re looking for a fun and creative Illustrator Animator to join our team! Explorer Academy is a science tuition centre based in Singapore with a passion for creating fun and engaging learning for Primary and Secondary students. You will be working across teams under our Graphic Designer to help freshen up and develop our visual identity; utilising captivating illustrations and 2D animation. Let’s create together!

Key Responsibilities

Illustration

• Create visually appealing graphics for digital and physical print media.
• Enhance brand recognition and resonance through artworks.
• Ensure clarity and aesthetic appeal in design layouts.
• Ideate and develop merchandising for our mascot and brand.
• Work together with the Marketing team to create social media or event collaterals.
• Work together with our Designer to develop a cohesive brand identity and bring our characters to life.

Animation

• Create captivating motion graphics for videos.
• Create high quality animations for science lessons/social media that can bring our mascot Rika to life through 2D animation.

Collaboration

• Work closely with our Design and Teaching teams to gather a well-rounded understanding of project requirements.
• Contribute creative ideas and initiatives that can help us grow and develop our visual branding and narrative.
• Create fun and exciting content that can help promote our centre.

Skills

Software

• Proficient in illustration, design and animation tools listed or adjacent.
• Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects, Premiere Pro)
• Optional : Procreate, Procreate Dreams, Clip Studio Paint, Live2D, Blender

Animation

• Proficiency in 2D animation is preferred.
• Experience in motion graphics design will be a plus.

Illustration

• Must have strong creative vision, knowledge in creating artworks for print and an eye for visual communication.
• Strong knowledge in fundamental illustration skills such as colour, composition, layout and typography.
• Preferably skilled in illustrating for children’s media.
• Design knowledge would be a plus but not necessary.
• Preferably skilled in creating both raster and vector artworks.

Soft Skills

• Must have strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of showing initiative.
• Have the ability to set your own due dates and have good time management.
• Must be adaptable and have effective problem-solving skills.
