DRESS DESIGNER

• Minimum diploma/secondary/other skill cetificate qualification .
• Minimum 7 years relevant work experience.
• Design and create clothing and accessories. Research current fashion trends and develop new designs. Create sketches and illustrations of designs. Source fabrics, trims, and other materials for use in garments.

Skills and Resposibility :

• Conceptualization and Design: Creating original dress designs, sketching ideas, and developing detailed garment drawings.
• Material Selection: Choosing appropriate fabrics, trims, and other materials for designs.
• Client Consultation: Understanding client needs and preferences through consultations.
• Production Oversight: Supervising the production process from concept to finished garment, including collaboration with pattern makers and seamstresses.
• Trend Research: Staying updated on current fashion trends, techniques, and materials.
• Creativity and Artistic Ability: Strong artistic and design skills to develop unique and appealing designs.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in sketching, pattern-making, and garment construction.
• Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Ability to effectively communicate design ideas and collaborate with others.
• Problem-Solving and Adaptability: Ability to adjust designs and troubleshoot issues during the production process.
