CONSTRUCTION PROJECT MANAGER

Job Description

• Lead and oversee project execution, ensure project is completed on time and within cost structure
• Lead a team of project staff include consultants, contractors, supervisor and project engineer and provide necessary guidance and mentorship to ensure site activities are executed in accordance with specifications budget and time schedules
• Report to Construction Manager regarding all issue related to site and project
• Conduct project briefing and kick start meeting
• Responsible for periodic progress reports
• Provide direction in construction planning, coordinate works, contractors, client and consultants to ensure overall construction progress based on schedule of works
• Prepare cost estimates and monitor progress claim, interim certificate and issue payment response
• Determine needed resources such as manpower, equipment, machine and materials from start to finish with attention to budgetary limitations
• Identify potential or actual causes of delay and take preventive or remedial actions
• Ensure all works complies with the quality, safety and environmental standards set by Authorities or relevant parties
• Monitor submissions and clearances from relevant authorities
• Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with approved specifications and ISO standards
• Check safety management system and conduct periodic safety inspection
• Any ad-hoc tasks assigned by supervisor

Job Requirements

• Degree in Engineering or related field
• Minimum 8 years of working experience in construction field and possess experience as project manager
• Knowledgeable in project management processes for all stages of project
• Proficient in MS Project and MS Office
• Passion in people and project management
• Excellent decision making and problem solving skills
• Good written, communication skills and interpersonal skills as need to liase with several parties
• Need to work overtime during critical periods as and when required
• Able work well under pressure as need to complete tasks within deadlines
