Assistant Engineer/Senior Testing Technician

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Assistant engineer/ Senior Testing Technician to join our Stage business unit.

The Testing Technician will be responsible for performing various tests on precision stages to ensure compliance with industry standards, customer requirements, and regulatory guidelines. This role is crucial in supporting the development and quality assurance of new Stage prototypes and products

Key Responsibilities

1. Test Strategy & Execution:
   • Lead the planning, execution, and oversight of complex mechanical, electrical, and functional tests on automotive components, assemblies, and vehicles.
   • Design and implement test methodologies for durability, safety, environmental, vibration, and performance evaluations, ensuring alignment with industry best practices.
   • Provide technical expertise to ensure all test setups meet safety, accuracy, and compliance requirements.
2. Test Equipment Oversight & Optimization:
   • Supervise the setup, calibration, and maintenance of testing equipment, ensuring operational efficiency and accuracy.
   • Lead troubleshooting efforts for test devices, coordinating repairs and recommending upgrades or improvements.
   • Ensure compliance with calibration, safety, and quality standards, advocating for continuous advancements in testing infrastructure.
3. Data Analysis & Technical Reporting:
   • Oversee the systematic collection and validation of test data, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and traceability.
   • Conduct in-depth analysis to identify performance trends, deviations, and potential risks, providing high-level recommendations to engineering and leadership teams.
   • Contribute to the development and refinement of test plans, protocols, and validation processes for new and existing products.
4. Regulatory Compliance & Quality Assurance:
   • Ensure all testing activities adhere to industry standards (e.g., ISO, SAE) and internal quality guidelines.
   • Collaborate with Quality Assurance teams to verify product specifications and support compliance efforts.
   • Review and approve test reports for internal distribution, regulatory submissions, and customer requirements.
5. Cross-functional Collaboration & Technical Leadership:
   • Act as a key technical liaison between testing, design, application and production teams, providing insights on product performance and reliability.
   • Mentor and guide junior engineers and technicians, fostering technical development within the team.
   • Lead problem-solving initiatives, identifying root causes and driving resolutions to improve product quality and testing efficiency.
6. Safety, Documentation, & Continuous Improvement:
   • Champion safety best practices in testing environments, ensuring adherence to workplace safety protocols.
   • Maintain comprehensive documentation of testing methodologies, results, and deviations to support traceability and future development.
   • Identify opportunities for process enhancements, driving continuous improvement initiatives to optimize testing workflows and efficiency.
7. Strategic Contribution & Additional Responsibilities:
   • Support management in defining test objectives, resource allocation, and long-term testing strategies.
   • Provide recommendations on new technologies, methodologies, and best practices to enhance testing capabilities.
   • Perform additional duties as required, ensuring alignment with business goals and technical advancements

Qualifications:

· Minimum O/N levels or equivalent; An associate diploma or higher in a related field is preferred.

· Minimum 2-3 years of experience in automotive testing, quality control, or a related technical role.

· Demonstrated ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints with precision.

· Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of manual dexterity.

· Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.

· Proven ability to maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area.

Physical Requirements:

· Ability to sit or stand for extended periods, often in a fixed position.

· Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.

· Capability to lift and move components and assemblies as needed (up to 20kg).

Working Conditions:

· Work is performed in a high-precision manufacturing or laboratory environment.

· Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

Additional Requirements:

· Willingness to undergo continuous training and stay updated with the latest advancements in precision assembly techniques.

· Flexibility to work overtime or shift hours if required.

· Certification in relevant areas (e.g., IPC certification for electronic assemblies) is a plus.
