Administrative Services & cleaning (Aquarium) - Poineer

Location: Poineer

Working Hours: 44hrs/week

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Feeding zebrafish and monitoring water quality
• Tank cleaning and sanitization
• Breeding support (e.g., egg collection, larval rearing)
• Health monitoring and reporting
• Waste management and biosafety
• Monitoring and maintaining recirculating aquaculture systems
• Troubleshooting minor technical issues
• Sterilizing tanks and equipment
• Data logging (fish mortality and inventory)
• Ensuring compliance with relevant welfare regulations
• Assisting scientists with breeding and sample collection
• Managing lab supplies
• Training new staff or students
• Adhering to lab safety and chemical handling protocols

Qualifications & Skills:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a zebrafish/fish-related facility
• Candidate must currently be working in a zebrafish/fish-related facility
• Basic knowledge of aquatic systems or aquaculture
• Attention to detail (for fish health and water parameter monitoring)
• Ability to work independently and follow strict protocols
• Physical stamina (e.g., standing for long periods, lifting tanks, etc.)
